The Best of AWS 2016

We hope you’re gearing up for the Amazon Web Services (AWS 2016) Summit in Santa Clara from July 12-13th. Attending as a Bronze sponsor this year, Apica is looking forward to meeting you and your team. We are also looking forward to some of the activities and speaker sessions happening this year. Here is what we’re most excited for:

  1. AWS GameDay – July 12th 9:00am – 5:00pm.

This is a very realistic and hands-on opportunity. We all know someone (if we aren’t that someone) who is involved in a startup. The idea is to deliver “highly available, highly scalable solutions in the cloud”, and attendees are challenged with runing tech for a cutting edge startup on launch day. Pretty neat!

  1. Keynote with Dr. Matt Wood, GM, Product Strategy, Amazon Web Services – Wednesday 10:00 – 11:30am

Dr. Wood has his PhD in machine learning and bioinformatics. Machine learning is one of the hottest topics in various industries these days and it should be an epic and educational session on AWS’ cloud services and where they’re headed.

  1. Networking Reception – July 13th 5:30 – 7:00pm

It takes a lot to pull off a conference and everyone plays a big part. Event organizers oversee the high-level logistics and details; sponsors fund the event; and attendees learn, populate and engage in the various activities. This reception will be a great way to end the conference, where we all come together and celebrate another successful Summit.

With the ever increasing complexity of modern network applications, and the shifting of consumption of applications to more diverse clients (mobile devices, set-top consoles, IoT devices, etc.), load testing is more important than ever to understand the impacts of scaling, the interaction of services, the ideal mix of infrastructure for cost and performance, and more.  This talk will cover the various methods of load testing used today, and how to incorporate load testing into your environments and code deployment processes.
