[Stockholm, Sweden, December 12, 2008.]
Swedish IT company Apica announces the launch of its new service for improved measurements of response times and up times of web sites and business critical web applications. The new service is a portal named Apica WebPerformance 2.0. Apica WebPerformance has new and extended capabilities to analyse response times and trends. Apica is a Swedish supplier of Internet based services for advanced performance tests and load tests of various web applications.
Apicas new service Apica WebPerformance measures availability of web sites, and their response times and up times. Many web sites have poor user response times, especially in times of high traffic. With Apica WebPerformance it is possible to see user response times, and present them in a way that facilitates trend analyses and analyses of how to improve both response times and up times on the entire web site and/or individual URL’s.
The new portal has a number of new functions and an entirely new and user friendly graphic interface. New functions have been developed for e.g. partners who get an opportunity to offer their clients new and extended hosting and operational services.
With this new service, Apica becomes one of the leading suppliers of services that measure and analyse availability and performance of business critical web applications. The new portal also opens up the possibility for partners to get a method and practical service to use for their customers’ benefits.
Measurements of response times is also important to control that operators live up to the agreed capacity according to Service Level Agreements.
Apica WebPerformance includes the following functions:
- Trend focus and options for individual configuration
- Improved status page with overview, trends, error occasions and SLA results
- New time and median graphs with comparative data
- Grouping of checks in business objects, e.g. booking, registering
- Qualification systems based on roles (suitable for large organisations)
- Powerful trend analysis of response times based on median times
- New detailed reports with SLA and response times broken down in per hour and period, including trend analyses
“An increasing number of companies and organisations are today primarily interested in being able to measure how the users of their web sites experience the sites’ business critical applications. We believe that this type of measurement will be a foundation for completely new payment models for development, operational and hosting services. We look at our service as a prerequisite for these new models to materialize”, said Sven Hammar, CEO, Apica.
